Walk farther along the edge of the gorge, however, and the illusion disappears—the waterfall reveals itself as a striking double cascade that has carved a narrow opening through the sandstone.
Fraser Falls is situated along the Mkozi River, only a short distance from the road leading down to Mbotyi. Despite being relatively close to the main route, the waterfall remains easy to miss because the turn-off is not clearly marked. Visitors unfamiliar with the area should travel with someone who knows the route or arrange the outing with an experienced local guide.
